door glitched shut

after ashley gets taken by the "psycho" and you start playing as chris, the door leading to where i need to go (the first one you open, where chris sees the blood on the other side) is glitched shut. it played the opening animation, and his voiceline, but the door is still closed and i dont have the prompt to open it. i tried restarting my game. anyone know how to fix this, or do i have to restart?
