This is actually unlikely since Supermassive has been using it as the theme for their last 4 or 5 Dark Pictures Anthology games. That, and the wording they chose makes it sound like the soundtrack has been ENTIRELY swapped.

I doubt they could do anything about it. They didn't compose the song. It's an old Appalachian Folk Song, around 100 years old.

I doubt that. As I understand it, the cutscenes are redone with new timing. It would be a nightmare to fit the music to the scenes. But let's see.

Do remakes of movies use the same score? Do song covers just use the original version and call it a day? If I wanted the exact same experience I'd just play the original.
