Right click the game in your Steam library, open Properties -> Local Files -> Open local files. Go to the Tweaks directory and apply Renderer_Direct3D_9_Shader_Palette.reg.
I'd need more information about your system, such as dxdiag and screenshots.
How to do dxdiag:
Press Win+R -> dxdiag -> "Save all information to file", then upload the resulting text file to some website and post it here.
Strangely enough, I can't get a screenshot. Steam's screenshot feature capture's what the screen should be displaying, and Windows's built-in screenshots are taking a 640x480 screenshot of the top left corner of my desktop, as if Worms Armageddon wasn't there.
I put my DxDiag file on my Google Drive: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3nVAMzbERdMZU5RVFQ2cW9OUzA/edit?usp=sharing

Sorry for the delayed response. I haven't been able to find anything game-breaking in the dxdiag, so it might have been some external software causing the issue. If you still experience the problem or would like to look into it further, then we would need to produce a forceful crash to generate an errorlog. This can be done by opening the game's properties in Steam library, and in the "Launch parameters" section write "/crash", then launch the game, get the error message, and upload/observe the ERRORLOG.TXT file. (and removing the "/crash" from the options)
Thank you both. :)
The strange thing now is that WA now appears in the top left corner of the screen, is not in a standard window, and cannot be moved or resized. I even set the in-game resolution to 1920x1080 (my native resolution) and it remained at 640x480 despite showing 1920x1080 in the options, even after restarting the game. Here's a screenshot:

The menus are changed under Frontend Settings in the wkD3D9Wnd.ini file that you should have in your WA folder, the in game resolution is for once you start a match.
If you want it to fill the screen, make sure Centered and Stretch are both set to 1. It should apply the settings next time you start.
Adding to the comment above: "Centered" is not required when "Stretch" is enabled (you will get the same results)
