Can we have Worms Armageddon standalone?
As much as I want to buy this game, technically rebuying it, I would want to purchase it standalone instead of it being a pre-order bonus for the new game Team 17 is putting out. Knowing that it has steam support means they support the newer OSs which I don't know how to do with my windows 95-98-xp supported disk.

If they were planning on doing this after worms revolution is released that's fine but at least make a mention because if not then it seems they are promoting their game based off of their own self-admitted "fan-favorite" just to take it away.

P.S. If someone knows how to get the disk-based worms armageddon for the newer OSs that would be much appreciated as well.

Go to http://wa.team17.com/ and download the latest update. It supports XP and higher (the Steam version is running the latest update, and presumably it'll automatically update itself when further updates are released).

The way I looked at this preorder was "Buy Worms Armageddon for $15 and get the next Worms game free." Seems like good value for money to me, even if I never play Revolution.

We intend to keep both the CD and Steam version compatible with the latest hardware and operating systems for the foreseeable future.

That's great, but are you going to release it standalone for someone like me who really wants Armegeddon but not the new Worms?

I think it's a cool way to entice preorders, and for 15 bucks you may as well get Armageddon plus Revolution :P

agreed, althought I probably will play the next one, if only for the water physics :)
