You can use a program like Pinnacle Game Profiler, Xpadder, or Joytokey. Not sure if there's any freeware ones. Joytokey used to be free if you can find an older version.

I play with X-BoX controller in Worms Clan Wars, and the interface was very good, I havn't any problem with the X-Box controller, it's even better then keyboard and mouse.

This is the way, but orginal system, for example in Wars Clan Wars is much better... Those programs are not enought, it must be a implemented system from development, to be well play...

Controller support could have easily been added with all the patches that have been made, but there is very little demand for it. You need the keyboard because it has the F-buttons to select weapons -- I doubt your gamepad has 13 spare buttons just for weapons, plus 5 buttons for fuse, 2 bounce buttons, 2 jump buttons, walking, talking, thinking, moonwalking, etc. Having an actual mouse helps greatly too if you ever need to teleport or place a girder pack while your turn time is running out, and in general to look around the map (helps a lot during midair flies in Tower Race maps). Worms Clan Wars works well with a controller because it's essentially a console game, but as a result its gameplay is no good --- it has none of the precision that makes WA great.

My best advice is to just learn the default control settings. I don't think any skilled WA player has ever used a gamepad.

Have you tried switching to a different display renderer? The Direct3D 9 (shader) one should be optimal on almost any modern system, but you can try some of the others in the advanced configuration menu as well. Something like this should be a safe bet:

is your HDD alright? do you have anything repetitive running in the background, such as auto-changing desktop wallpapers? (they shouldn't cause a problem but still it depends on the resources)

Changed that, but problem stil.. The first 5minutes, its fine, but then it starts to freeze many times.... sometimes it freeze 1sec and other 2-3-4 or 5... :/

I consider myself at least somewhat 'skilled' at WA and I first played it about 10 years ago on my PS1 so, of course, I have used a gamepad. I now play it on pc. There are probably plenty of other decent WA players who are the same as me so 'ever used a gamepad' is a bit exaggerated.

well the PS1 port of WA was made for gamepad, and it also lacks many PC features and fixes. I have this on my PSP, I can rope well but selecting weapons is of course quite slow without F-keys, etc.

I would also love to get Gamepad support. Weapon hotkeys are unnecessary, and you can adjust fuse by pressing one button to increase it, until it goes to 5 and then goes to 1, like in Clan Wars.

90% of the daily WA players would strongly disagree with you. Also in time-limited schemes (like Hysteria), and various other online schemes, a fast weapon AND fuse switching is extremely important. In particular, F8 (Ninja Rope) is the heaven. Also you would need a button to press Shift for moonwalking, and some other things (five different types of jump) which are not present in other Worms games due to console limitations.

Hmm, that's sorta true. Though standard game modes don't really need hotkeys, different jumps may cause some problems.

But, well, XBox 360 controller has many buttons which aren't used in Clan Wars, like the bumbers, and because this game has no zoom, triggers are unnecessary. And if Back is used for setting fuse, Y can be used as the second jump button. D-pad Left and Right can be used to set Air Strike direction, and Up and Down can be left for hotkeys.

Totally, there could be ten hotkeys: LB, LT, RB, RT, D-leftup, D-up, D-rightup, D-rightdown, D-down and D-leftdown. Also, if they make Gamepad keys self-adjustable, one could easily make their Gamepad use comoftable for themself.
