...and this game works on Windows 10! It runs on 30-40 fps, but thats probably because i didnt even install the video drivers.

It should be working in the same way as it does on Windows 8. For the best performance, enable "Direct3D 9 (shader)" rendering API in the game's settings.

The weird issue I'm having is that enabling Direct3D 9 (shader) gives me a huge drop of menu perfomance. Like, the waiting times between screens is huge and when the screen appears, buttons aren't accessible for some time. Any ideas to what is the problem? Thanks!

That is a known issue. The speed of the stars flying around is tied to the framerate: the higher the framerate, the faster the stars will fall. It is normal for them to fall slower with 60fps.
There's a latency issue when switching from one frontend screen to another: moving the mouse around when a screen is being opened might slow it down. This is also known.
By the way, you can turn off vsync in advanced settings.

Same Here. I needed Compatibility Flags to get it running good on my Windows 10 Lappy. But I dunno why it called my OS 'Windows 8'.

because Windows 8.1 and later report their version as Windows 8 to the application if the application is not aware of the system's support.

My friends have been unable to get the game running after installing ProjectX on windows 10. The up to date version (3.7) works, but when downgraded, they are unable to get it working. White screen mostly, or no menu options appear but sound can be heard.
