Worms Armageddon

Is Worms Armageddon 4.0 still under active developement?
I recently reinstalled my old copy of Armageddon an started playing it again, with the last update. Needless to say, it's still a blast, and Rubberworm (which I had never previously tried) makes it even better.
I also read about that fabled 4.0 update, whose existance is never addressed by Team17, but which might easily be the ultimate Worms game (if it's ever released).
The progress (http://wormsng.com) seems to suggest that, despite a couple of years into development, it's still in the initial phase. Also, apparently the suggestion site (http://feedback.worms2d.info/forums/5998-worms-armageddon) has seen hardly any activity in the last couple of years.
The repository that hosts the open-source part of the code seems to be updated more frequently (the latest changes having been made this week), but in its description CyberShadow also states that the engine has also found other purposes, which to me sound like he's more interested in completing the engine, rather than the 4.0 update.
So, does anybody know what's actually going on? Is there any chance that the game might be at least somewhat playable in the next 3-4 years?

This is not an official website, more of an Easter egg than anything. I haven't been rigorous in updating it.

I've been using that library in all my D projects. This includes the WormNET bots currently running on WormNET.

I haven't worked on 4.0 much lately. Currently and lately I've been busy with migrating websites and services to a new server and HostingBuddy improvements. Deadcode continues working on the next (3.x) update.

I hope to make it so.

Yeah. Saw on Wikipedia that the plans are to make this and World Party cross compatible. That correct?

Interesting to see you have still plans for the game CyberShadow. I was wondering if there is a change to integrate game with Steam API, adding leaderboards, achievements and other stuff, is still possible?

Thanks for the update!

The interface does not scale with the resolution and is smaller in 1920 x 1080, let alone 4K. I'd love to see this fixed, if possible.

Thank you for working with the game.

wkSuperFrontend can be used to scale the frontend interface. It's still in beta so not perfect. Or wkD3d9wnd can be used to stretch the frontend interface, and provide nice in-game multi-monitor support. It is more of a finished product. The two can also be used together without problems.

Are these updates still coming to the disc version or is it purely for Steam now? (I haven't been in touch with the Worms Armageddon community since Team17 totally changed their forums to tech-support only a few years back)

Also, is that "MapGen" program still around? I don't remember who made it but I remade the classic Worms 1 Candy terrain for it (although, not entirely finished - still needed to do side objects). The program I'm on about is the one that can generate maps outside of the game, using external assets.

Updates are coming for both CD and Steam versions of the game.

Yes it is. In fact, its author has returned recently and released several updates. Check it out: http://worms2d.info/MapGEN

Cool! Hopefully one day soon I'll finish off my Candy remake theme.
