oh hi, this is not a drill

so allegedly the http://worms2d.info server got caught in the crossfires of 🇷🇺 🇺🇦 war. This also means that the Worms Knowledge Base ( http://worms2d.info ), HostingBuddy ( https://worms2d.info/HostingBuddy ), WormNAT2 ( https://worms2d.info/WormNAT2 ), Worms Map Database ( http://wmdb.org ), and WebSnoop among other things are all down.

What does this mean:
1. You cannot call HostingBuddy to host a game for you
2. You cannot use WormNAT2 to host games, your game appears as a red entry with an Argentina flag (flag ID 1)
3. You cannot visit the WebSnoop website to check the live activity of WormNET
4. You cannot connect to the Community Server
5. The only way to host games is with port forwarding

ETA of coming back is measured in months, but the precise time is unknown

hey everyone,
I have an update regarding the status of the worms2d.info server. StepS reached out to me via Discord DMs to give some updates.

Between the time of me (h3oCharles) writing a warning message and StepS' message forwarded by Sensei on Worms Armageddon Discord server on 03.07.2022, more events have occurred to make a more significant outage.

First, the event that occurred on the 3rd of July has nothing to do with the events of the 30th of July. At that time, only WormNET bots (like HostingBuddy) were affected, neither the server nor the websites were down, and WormNAT2 worked

- The relay server mentioned in StepS' initial message is located in Moldova (CyberShadow's country of residence) and had various uptime problems in the early months of the war.
- StepS never expected things to go down this poorly and regrets not wording his initial message differently.
- Current downtime is affecting all worms services hosted on the server, the server itself however is up (and some other non-worms websites hosted on it are working) but WormNAT2 being part of those services is not working.

TL;DR: the impact of these events affected people harder than anyone was expecting, people responsible for maintaining the server are (or will be) aware of the problem

PS: If the situation does not improve StepS will have a look tomorrow (at the time of writing this), but he still can't directly affect this

Team17 has nothing to do with that server, as that server is hosted in Ukraine and maintained by someone outside of corporate Team17
