i mean most of the cons you listed just affect new players.
You missed most of my main pros for WA. Off the top of my head and probably forgetting important things:
-Custom weapons/utilities/scripting/game logic with ProjectX. Almost anything that seems like it's missing from WA can be added using ProjectX - it is extremely powerful. Interactive maps, gravity zones, set starting points, custom-designed weapon emplacements, etc. There's vehicles, an underwater swimsuit, hang glider, hover board, etc. Probably close to 100 quality user-made weapons and other things (like different oil barrel types) ready to play. Easy automatic sharing (and caching) of all creations when you join someone who hosts a ProjectX game.
-Far more customization (can adjust weapon power, game options, to make more game-types possible with different objectives than simply killing). WMD sorely lacks defensive type weapons or the ability to control which weapons appear in crates or crafting.
-Way fewer restrictions on customization without arbitrarily defined ranges. For example you can have 255 mines or oil barrels, and fine-tune the numbers of any option (if not in game than with external scheme editors). You're not stuck choosing between 15, 30, 45 or 60 for anything.
-Better physics (WMD is a poor imitation with a buggy rope, worse jumping etc)
-Replay files (easily shareable with tiny file size). Hugely important feature that enables external leagues. All your games are automatically recorded and archived, so you never miss anything. You don't have to use external recorders with their correspondingly huge difficult-to-share file sizes. In-game ranking stinks because you only get one game-type which relies on Team17's nonexistent knowledge of the game for balancing. Built-in tools to extract logs, maps, schemes, and frames (for video-making).
-Almost zero bugs and tons of small improvements made over the years.
-Tons of other 3rd party creations that make the game better (Rubberworm, SuperFrontendHD, D3D9Wnd, Great Snooper, SchemeEddy, worms2d.info, wmdb, wsdb, etc). With D3D9wnd you can watch the game on one monitor while doing other things on another screen.
-Still in (slow) development by dedicated passionate people and still has active online multiplayer. It will almost certainly outlive Worms WMD.
-Better animations and overall slicker experience. Everything is pixel-perfect, fewer things waste time. The menus are more efficient. Lack of console-itis.
As for some of your WA cons:
-WA is able to place 48 worms randomly. You just need a big enough map, or more specifically a map with enough acceptable placement locations. The worms can't auto-place closer than about an inch from each other. Maps can be downright enormous if you want, up to about 30000 pixels square - larger than WMD by far, and it's more possible to adjust the game settings to make use of that map space.
-You don't need WormNAT2 or HostingBuddy if you just forward your hosting port on your router. If you don't want to do that, WormNAT2 is the easiest one-time 5-second fix you could ever hope for.
Preaching to the choir..
I don't missed this. All of these is counted to "fan-support - mods and updates" pro
Armageddon is best. (- The game can't randomly place 48 worms beacuse map is quite small) it's not you need make custom huge map are fine. trash default map, get custom maps lol.
ARMAGEDDON FTW
Then I'm Armageddon noob. I'm getting rekt by experienced players and WA has only pros
In the future, ask constructive questions, pls.
