Why isnt worms 3d available?

WA (2D) is more playable, what makes it more fun, than less playable Worms 3D. Furthermore WA gives You working and populated Online Mode extended by many game types (also working Offline with Your friends only):

- Roper
- Shopper
- Wall to Wall (WxW)
- Bow and Arrow
- Forts
- Mole Shopper

Additionally WA runs plugins named "WormKit Modules": http://worms2d.info/WormKit .

You won't see those features in Worms 3D, so for me the answer is simple.

Sega owns the publishing rights to Worms 3D and Worms Forts.
Those games are only available on GOG, as far as I know.

In any case, Worms Ultimate Mayhem is better than W3D in all aspects.
It even contains the whole W3D campaign and all levels.
I think you only miss out on 2-3 weapons, which all are replaced by similar ones.

No one seems to play standard mode without ninja rope, it's pretty much always shopper or roper and that's all any of the l337 players do

Give mole shopper a try! It's one of the most popular schemes and there is no ninja rope.

There are people playing normals or forts, you can host your own game and people will join, just try.

I usually host: Fly Shopper, Mole Shopper, Shopper, Forts, Big BnA and BnG.
