Before one buys: Character Customization details?

Never heard of this one, but it caught my attention a bit. Though I did check through some of the responses here and see you can't make a monster-type protagonist, I was wondering maybe one thing that is moot or not... can you at least have a female protagonist playable here or is it just a male only? And if luckily so, how's the customizations for the player on creation if you can put a girl in?

Male only. Very limited amount of customization. Some hairsytles, face/eye styles, and clothing, but everything quickly gets covered up by your armor classes. No female protagonist, you're very explicitly the little brother of an NPC.
