Great atmosphere, but at a certain point frame drops make the enemy invisible and impossible to avoid. For an already difficult game this is the pits! Would not recommend until this is fixed.

It's a shame to see the atmosphere blown out by the bad game mechanics

There's no temporary saving. In fact, when you encounter a checkpoint to save, the game's progression grows that brings you further to the end, but so does the difficulty, making it harder, even tho it's not explained.

And the game is frustrating. The game's intention is to be hard, but it falls off and becomes annoying in some sectors. I get the difficulty is there to accomodate the game's atmosphere, which I like so much, but it's more frustrating than hard. Not to be confused as something hard to being frustrating.

The dialogue in this game is well written, you'd want to go in spoiler free to have genuine reactions, but you're mostly forced to watch a guide because you're gonna get stuck alot when you're new.

I'll keep playing this game, but that's just my warning. It can make a huge purchasing decision for someone who doesn't like this aspect.

A genuine masterpiece.

This is truly a fantastic game. It is just more often than not unplayable for most people. Unless you have a hi-end pc or laptop you will undoubtedly run into many game ending glitches or a frame rate so awful that if this game didn't also happen to have turn based combat it would have been dead on arrival. A great game that has too many problems with the game engine or code im not sure, but when that is all fixed i would highly recommend this game. Buy it at your own risk. If it runs great, if not i'm sorry brother/sister let us bide our time together.

This review will follow the same structure as the first Fear & Hunger review I did. I love both games equally so whatever I said about the first game apply to Termina as well. I will only mention the differences in this review. Read the first review and keep what I said in mind.

I'm writing this review before a massive upcoming update; I have finished the game three times with different characters. This review is based on Version 1.9.1

One thing I want to clear out first before I start. Many people are saying that Termina is easier than the first game. That is not true. Termina have a much sharper learning curve than the first game and it’s way bigger. There are new mechanics and 8 different characters, and each one have their own storyline, side quests and different events based on different time cycles. The game has a more friendly introduction, and enemies are easier to defeat than the first game but even the combat have its own new mechanics to learn. Termina is not an easier game; it's a deeper one.


The Music in both games were fantastic but they differ slightly from each other. Fear & Hunger music felt darker and grittier While Termina felt like madness, but I like them both to the same degree.


Playing Termina, I have not run into any bugs whatsoever. My biggest problem with the first game was the bugs that can easily ruin your whole run. The game runs bugs free, which by far is the biggest step up from the first game.
Interactions between characters and the world felt way better. Not that the first game didn’t have that but since Termina have more characters the dialogue between every character, their motivation and their own journey felt more impactful than the first game. The writing felt more humorous, and all characters have their own personality. The lore expanded and the plot was interesting.
The game is massive with a Detailed world. Although sometimes it’s not clear what place you should go to in the city.
The gameplay is fantastic. Termina added in depth complex mechanics on top of the first game.
The art is beautiful, Playing the first game I loved the art and already thought it was unique, but Termina take it to the next level.


I prefer the atmosphere of the first game; it felt thicker and darker. Maybe it's because I played it first. I feel the same way about Demon's Souls. I liked the atmosphere in that game more than Dark Souls, it felt darker and grimmer. I feel about Termina the same way I feel about Dark Souls, 'Bigger & Better' but with a different atmosphere.


In Conclusion, I think Termina is a Step up in every way possible but somehow, I enjoy Fear & Hunger Slightly more for the atmosphere. If I were to draw a comparison, Fear & Hunger feels like descending into a Dark Spiral whereas Termina exemplifies an Ascent Into Madness

Wow- This game is hot garbage. Tries really hard to be edgy and offensive. Enjoy crawling around looting ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ barrels every five feet.

Not worth the pain. Would rather watch a lore video on youtube and save myself the trouble. Edgy but in a good way. If it was made with anything other than rpg maker it would be cool.
