What are the Boxes the Janitor has you assemble?

As the title says, what are the boxes the janitor forces you to assemble at the beginning? Still have yet to find any clues as to what they are.

If I remember well, those are Cubes of the Depths, the same you used in the first game to travel to past from the present time. The important part is later, when you find out more about him and what's going on in prehevil.

When you start the game, it all rotate in Rher favor, but then you find out the presense of another god, the Sulfur god, he have cultists too, like the Janitor, who probably is the same person who commited the murderers of the white mold apartaments.

I'd say it`s a heck of spoiler about what's going to happen if you did ending A in the first game and went for ending A in the 2nd.
To cut it short, After you'll "win" fight with Logic, her true form will have a cube in her chest with crossed out Vinushka sigil on it, which means that someone figured that for a new Ascended god to be made, it has to take power of another "DEAD" Old god - and so far we know of god of depth - his cube was used on little girl. and 2nd dead is vinushka
