Can you kill him without him using it?
I dunno if the bookcases behind him have anything cool but i'd prefer if they stayed intact lol

If you are not playing as Levi or Abella recruit them. If you have pep pills use them before combat, brown vials dont work because you can only use them during combat. If you have levi as a teammate and not main character then give him a shot of heroin. Only target the body, you should be able to kill him in turn 2 like this, which is the turn he does his fire thing. Its only a chest and a random book tho.
Is much better to steal from him if you are Marcoh, he gives you a book of enlightenment.

I can definitely relate when it comes to wanting to loot everything possible. That said, the chest and bookcase will be normal RNG loot, so don't feel you're missing out on too much. If you're as determined as I was, however, then you definitely want to hit him as hard as you can as fast as possible. As mentioned above, pep pills will grant extra attacks. If you can get your heaviest hitter above 16 agility, they'll get the extra attack without pep pills. Small thing's amulet and a Fear and Hunger face engraving from Marina should get you there. Try to have a party of four to maximize your damage output. You can fill out a party with contestants by Day 2 Morning.

If you're playing as Abella and have weaponcraft, the Meat Grinder is AMAZING. You can find the main component for it in Bunker 1.
Marcoh's fists put out some solid damage and hit twice.
Levi dosed with heroin is great for bosses.
If you have 10 rust pearls and a portrait of a young man, you can get the Mauler from a New God offering circle, which is a solid weapon. I think getting all the pearls from the Rher circles in the school and bunker 7 should be enough.

I haven't tried using Analyze with Daan yet, but maybe that could open up some easy headshots?
