Marcoh appreciation thread

Developer, thank you for making your Jojo/Jotaro reference character such a likable softie deep down. He's one of my favorite party members to recruit.

Funnily enough, the dev said on Twitter that any JoJo resemblance is coincidental.

I still appreciate Marcoh, though, since he feels great AND funny to play (what with punching out monsters), and his ending B reinforces his good nature.

Did he? I remember him uploading a video titled "Let's paint a JoJo reference" where he was drawing the character's portrait. That always gave me the impression that it was intentional.

I guess the initial portrait was accidental, and then Miro ran with it

He's up there with August as being one of the biggest friggin' sweethearts in this game. Just such an all around nice dude.

I didn't get much value out of him in my playthrough, but maybe that's because you can't recruit him until pretty late into the game and I had already put all the good stuff on the other characters.

People were thinking lots of things were JoJo references in the early Termina demos. Things like the Pillarmen, etc. But I barely know anything about jojo, so those things were just a coincidence. But that didn't stop people from calling out everything as a JoJo reference. I figured I'd give them one. That's why the Marcoh art video is called what it is. It's mostly just a joke. I did take some visual inspiration from JoJo (and its amazing art style), but Marcoh is equally as much inspired by things like Rocky Balboa, Kiryu from Yakuza, Joachim from Shadow Hearts and other stuff. Maybe one day I'll really watch jojo and know what all these references are all about.

You actually made a reference to Todd Howard.

Marcoh an ideal character for me, kind and fair. I love to play as Marcoh. But I also love the way you showed him from the perspective of the other characters. He is kind and fair despite his past. He is unfriendly at first and didn't even want to talk, but when he went looking for a wheelchair it was very touching.

Marcoh is so buff that he beats the crap out of genies and child ghosts. He is like a JoJo character whose stand is his fists.
One of the best at the Termina festival.

I love marcoh. Everytime i go to a new area I press the party talk button. I love seeing his really, really, kind words. I love Marcoh. He makes killing everyone else early on way easier. Plus he can steal, for early benchgrinder access.

When I saw Marcoh for the first time, he always reminded me more of Yujiroh Hanma, but once people started pointing out the Jotato resemblence I started seeing it more and more. lol
