Best way to defeat Chaugnar (elephant head)?

I just can't seem to beat him. Two trumpet attacks and my head explodes. Even with another party member he still kills me. Blinding doesn't seem to do anything. Is there something I can wear or do to stop the pressure of my head from the trumpet blasts?

I've shot his arms off but still fail.... I also don't have the ability to summon a blood golem but maybe if I get a third party member the fight will be more doable.

I've killed them with karen and black kalev using a rifle and explosive vial, 1 shot before the fight usually takes out an arm, vial deals good damage and set some parts on fire, once the legs are gone I put rifle rounds into its head until it died granted this strategy probably only worked because kalev tanked a trumpet attack.

I killed it. You can kinda cheese it by letting it chase you down to the room that loops around, it won't enter the room so you can shoot it without fighting it but I ran out of bullets. It took 5 bullets + pipe bomb to kill. Apparently its weak to magic so I'll keep that in mind on my next PT!

Wouldn't running away after he uses his trumpet be a strategy? Or does his head heal back

A bear trap worked for me, then shot him twice and killed him normally with Levi, Marina and Black Kalev

I didn't think to try that, I will next time I face him.

you don't get notable reward but you will still need to kill it in the end if you want to get ending b/c hmm might be even for ending a i think coz she has those skill

I baited Chaugnar in front of a door where it refused to enter the next room to the south. I pushed a box in between it and myself and killed it in 5 rifle shots
