Needles' Corpse Gone?

So, I had fought and killed Needles in the area west of the book store. But immediately after the fight I had ran back to the previous screen to avoid the Bobby tailing me. When I eventually returned Needles' corpse was gone. I had not looted or sawed off the head when I had won. I tried checking the surrounding area best to my ability but did not seem to spot his body anywhere.

Does he despawn? Does his corpse just relocate somewhere else? Is this some rare bug I just happened across? Not that big of a deal just curious.

The same thing also happens to the german soldier when you kill him in the prehevil courtyard. His body vanishes for some reason.

Happened to me too, I had to run away to avoid the mob, didn't get to loot him. Came back and he was gone. I think since he's based off a horror movie slasher, he just does the horror movie slasher trope of disappearing after he gets defeated.

I think is kinda an easter egg. Needles is by far the most dangerous enemy in early game, we run from him and avoid fight until get confident.

He does HORRIBLE things to everyone if the party group is defeated. I think they added that creep factor of dissapear, even with the head cut.

I have a feeling that its intended. The implications are much creepier that way

It's a bug. Some corpses also dissapear, that's not exclusive to Needles. I do not know what are the conditions to trigger that bug tho, but it happens very rarely.
