While Termina takes place much later in the setting's timeline and doesn't have any of the same characters mostly, in addition to smaller references there's several rather important callbacks and character motivations that may otherwise feel poorly fleshed out if you don't know the background, especially in one of its main endings. Termina's in-game lore books also spoil some of the first game's stuff, if you plan on playing it later.
the mechanics of the 2 games are completely different.
Moreover, the first game is quite short, so I'd say go for it, but be ready because, at least imo, the first few hours of Funger 1 are much tougher than Termina.
In case you decided to not play it you could always watch some videos (such as the ones made by Frapollo94) that explain the lore and the endings.
Funger 2 is better hook for people in general.
