Hi, Should I Get Fear & Hunger 1 or 2 ?

Recently saw someone playing this game (part 1) on youtube and I really like it. Didn't realise that there was Fear and Hunger 2. Which on should I get ? Which is better? Is 2 better than 1 ?

One is harder and more brutal, 2 is more accessiable, ya don't need to play 1 to enjoy 2 in both gameplay and plot

This seems to be the general opinion, but I actually think 2 is harder than 1. 1 has fewer mechanics to learn and more exploits to make up for the hard parts, I find.

I'd argue that 2 gives more safety nets in the form of more allies with varied abilties, the fact that because everything will happen the same even if you reset (at least plotwise) so you can plan routes and so on, 2 is easier

You should start with the first one.
Storywise, it starts many plot arcs that develop further in the second game.

If you're already on board with what Fear and Hunger is all about (Its harsh punishments and learning from mistakes) then feel free to start with 1. I think that 2 is better at getting people interested in the series but if you're already into it there's no reason to not play both in order.

I personally like alot more the characters in fear and hunger 2, also it has the additional benefit of being a light version of the first game in every sense of the word, things are a little bit easier to digest with this game.

If you are more sensitive to very heavy themes then termina is a lot easier to digest. I think you don't need to play 1 to play termina, and termina is a much easier place to start. termina isn't as directionless as the first game and just feels easier to get into. if you enjoy termina a lot, i think the first game works really well playing after termina sorta as a prequel.

Start with 2 and if you like it then try 1 with the Reign of New Gods mod to fix enough gamebreaking bugs to make it playable. The first game got a bit abandonded for Termina leaving it a broken mess without community bugfixes. Litterally couldn't complete it and was forced to mod it because it kept freezing.
