Fear & Hunger 2: Termina

Moonscorched character speculation, SPOILERS!
This thread is about speculating on what the main characters moonscorched transformations mean. Usually in stories like this the transformations are a reflection of a character's inner self. But Fear and Hunger Termina often does the opposite.

Karin's transformation seems to emphasis this the most. Her character is anti-war and particularly contemptuous of the Bremen pigs. And yet of all things, she's turned into a Valkyrie, ferrying bellends to the battlefield. There's no way this is meant as a reflection of her inner life but instead as a mockery of it.

Then there's Daam who seems to be a compassionate person, but then is turned into the ultimate creep.

What do you think? Feel free to share any thoughts you have on the subject.

Well, what about Olivia? She is a physically disabled person, but her transformation is called "mechanical dance". After transformation she can finally moves freely. And that "dance" part of name seems to be something she has been dreaming of.
That all goes againts the theory that transformation is a mockery of people.
If not a loosing of sanity she would probably be a little happy imo.
I think these moonscorched forms on the first glance might be 'clear cut' and seem to talk about their "true inner self" but when inspected deeper are mocking them - which fits Rher's, Perkele's and other God's contempt for humanity.

In regards to Karin, it is worth noting that despite hating Bremen so much, she was born in Bremen.

And while she seems anti-war, she is not necessarily against violent protests, she can grab a pistol and shoot a soldier in her intro, and while fighting her she tells you it's not a first time she kills someone.

The theory about them being a mockery is reasonable enough, but maybe they are some inner, darker self.

Their forms seem to reflect their darker thoughts of themselves, or what they fear to become.

Karin is called a Valkyrie in her moonscorched form which references the way she talked about herself being a journalist, while others called her a vulture for her single-mindedness on getting a scoup (which reflects her looks in this form).

If you talk to Daan in the church, he will say that it's foolish to hope for the help of the gods and one should rely on their own strength. During his transformation at the tower he'll brack down and accept the "help" of Pocketcat as a way to get the answers he was looking for. Which makes him a servant to a god just like his parents were.

Levi is pretty straight forward IMO with his transformation into the Weeping Scope reflecting his memories of being a child soldier, crying for the friends he lost dueing the war.

I see it as whatever would make living as suffering as possible (while still being violent and capable enough to harass other contestants). Daan becomes major creepy, Olivia finally gets permanent mobility but only by being a violent tool of war), Levi is even more deeply and permanently disfigured by war, and so on.
