Hello! Thank you for your interest in our software. Unfortunately, there is no direct support for the AV1 codec in Movavi Video Editor 23, so we cannot guarantee correct processing of such files. However, depending on the graphics card installed on your PC, decoding of files with AV1 may work. The fact is that not all graphics cards support decoding of the AV1 codec. For example, decoding of files with AV1 on NVIDIA graphics cards below the 3000 series will not work, but on higher ones it may.
Hi! In that case, we recommend you to download the free trial version of Movavi Video Editor 25[www.movavi.com] from our official website and check if the import of AV1 files will work on your PC (considering that you have an RTX 4080 graphics card, the import will most likely work, but we can't guarantee it). If there are no problems importing files, then we recommend you consider purchasing version 25, as importing files with the AV1 codec may still not work in older versions.
Hi! Thank you for letting us know your results. We are already working on implementing full support for the AV1 codec. It will appear in one of the upcoming updates of Movavi Video Editor 25.
Hello, for cutting a video, I prefer Movavi video Converter 20. When will you put the AV1 codec because most people want to record their stream with this codec but impossible to edit with the same codec and record quickly with cuts.
Thank you for your feedback! We really appreciate it. We have plans to add full support for AV1 codec (i.e. the ability to use AV1 codec for both import and export). This support will be implemented in the latest versions of our software (Movavi Video Editor 25, Movavi Video Converter 24). However, adding support for AV1 codec to older versions is unfortunately not planned.
