Why is this game so hated?
WHY? I understand it is a port of a DS, but at least a damn good at the very least.

I actually like it. I just would feel more comfortable if they made a port of the first one too, as I didn't finish it on DS

Because it's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥ game....some things you just gotta know from your balls. You look at it and play it and it's...very bad.

Not really, especially considering its price tag.

That should tell you right there how bad the game is when it's price and I mean full price from the beginning is 2 bucks....cmon dude dont be dense. The games were never good not even on the ds.

Generally, people do not like ports and they are lazy to give them a chance. This game is pretty decent - a bit rough around the edges, but gives you a couple of hours of good fun.

Your standards are very low then.

For a port of a DS game, they actually are.
The game has bugs, plenty of em. Turns out you can't play it at higher than 1920x1080, the FOV is cut-off, I think there's some control issues right off the bat. It's not a good port, and they've openly stated they know what the problems are, they're just no going to fix them.

Wasn't abandoned, Renegade Kid, the original creators of Dementium lost the rights of the game after the second one and got back a year or 2 ago, there now remastering the games, and recently tried to get peoples intrest in a third.

This is belated on my part, but I love this pc game. As a long time fan of the first game, it would only stand to reason I would like anything related to this underrated gem. I never played the sequel at the time of it's original release, and it was unheard of in my home state at Game Stop. While I have the sequel playable on my 3DS now, I never had it originally.

I agree it isn't quite as fluid as the original, but Dementium in the first place was meant to be a fun little horror game (that isn't scary) it wasn't meant at all to be groundbreaking. It wastes a ton of time and despite it's short length (if you know what you are doing) it can be beaten quickly and for me, has ton of replay value because of diffulculty. Not everything should be relied on critical reception. There are few exceptions as some Indie games on Steam are quite bad and some people there might be right in their opinion... but for the most part, games should be experienced and enjoyed not on critical reception but personal enjoyment.

For me, I personally adore Duke Nukem Forever, and Resident Evil 6, both games that are mixed and sometimes negative in reception. I wouldn't think to much about the overwhelming negativity that this game has on Steam and critic reaction. If you enjoy it, that's all that matters.

Not that this comment has any relevence now as it may be already too late!

What makes this game bad is the horrible PC port. The game itself is actually pretty good and I would recommend the DS version.

But the remaster... oh dear. The PC version has only one battle theme, while the DS had 7 different themes. Your movement is slower, than crouching in AAA games. The combat feels horrible and some settings won't save (like the resolution). And what's so HD about it? The resolution? The textures look very bad for a PC game.

There's also a missing mode! I loved the survival mode in Dementium 2. Well, guess what? The PC port doesn't have this mode.

Get it for under 2 bucks. Otherwise... forget it or play the original one on DS.
