It may have already updated. Check the download section of your Library.

I can't figure out how to download the patch. Does it fix River not helping the Doctor in the London Underground 2 (I think it's two)?

Also - How come my brand new game pad isn't registered by the game?!

I don't know how to download the patch. There's nothing on my downloads page to suggest it's downloaded, even though my options are set to update automatically (I think?!). Turning off the whole game hasn't helped.

Really could use this patch. I'm stuck on London Underground II, because a certain archaeologist will insist on abandoning AI and running headlong at the Cybermen...so any help really appreciated!

It should be download automatically, it might have done it without you seeing. You could try to uninstall and reinstall, your save file wille be saved in the Steam Cloud so don't worry about losing that.

I gave that a try and the AI is still glitching. I thought there was an improvement, but River still isn't working. There's only a 1 in 10 shot that she'll pull me over the second hurdle (instead of repeatedly climbing back down) and even when she does that she doesn't seem to understand the principle of the pipes and goes back to jumping around. It's frustrating because it makes it impossible to get to the end before the Cybermen. I have "Always keep this game up to date" checked in the properties, but is there anything else I could do that I'm missing? I am new to Stream.

yeah I'm having the problem with the lift and i'm pretty sure ive not received a patch. anyone know how to fix the bug??

Finally managed to get passed London Underground II, simply by doing it over and over again. No thanks to AI. Now the City Streets lift won't work. If this patch has actually downloaded (and I suspect it hasn't) then it's useless.
