Deadzone Status Update
Hey everyone,

We have seen many posts here with confusion on what is going on with Deadzone. Some claiming that the game is dead, we pulled the plug, or that we have taken money from our players and ran with it.

These are all untrue. We had to take the game down for some large technical updates & these have taken longer than anticipated. We are expecting servers to be online later this week & we want the patch to be in the best place for both your experience and our ability to collect accurate feedback on the changes.

We are working hard on adding a plethora of new features to the game that we previously discussed in our Q&A.

You can find the transcript here. [www.playdeadzone.com]

We'll have more updates soon. Our most active methods for communication are through Discord, Twitter, our website, and Reddit.

We apologize for the extended maintenance - we're excited to get this next patch out ASAP.

im supporting ur game thru and thru, get a lot of hate from trolls, i even got banned for 3 days for defending the game and u guys being quiet... imagine that...
many others have questions and think the game is lost - all this wouldn't happen if u simply put update notes right here on steam on a regular basis instead of only using twitter and discord. the game is not on these platforms, it is on steam. so pls think about ur community and about the wellbeing of ur game.

cheers

most bans come from power trip mods that are friends with agressive abusive types who bait others but are safe themselves. MOST have nothing to do with the actual forum content they are claiming to protect. this is why steam released MOST if not all their non paid mods, they still have quite an issue with a few official corrupt ones . i was happy to see quite a few who regularly gave me bans for no reason removed from power ( and havent been on steam in 8+ months on those account )

i know, most mods and even steam staff in general are a joke and totally useless keeping the place clean. many reports of ppl and either it doesn't happen anything or it takes ages.

Maybe not but 8 days down is 8 days forgotten, so you may as well have.

Really? I strongly suggest that your most experienced employee (janitor maybe?) take a quickie DevOps 101 course someplace, cuz daaaaamn ya'll suck hard at infrastructure management and deploying code properly.

That makes sense, to communicate through the channels where you DON'T sell the game and where your players AREN'T. Companies should always rely on the consumer to participate in no fewer than 4 alternate communication channels to hunt down status and update info. This tactic has always improved consumer confidence.

I just hope the game actually changes a sizable amount. will i be able to equip two ballistic weapons? an SMG and a double barrel? DMR and LMG? are the cybrids going to be smart? are you going to continue to lock off a weapon slot to have it dedicated to a brain dead enemy? will weapons actually FEEL like weapons, and not a nerf gun? will i still have to pay 15 bucks to get two tokens that i can use for an armor skin (that actually doesnt look too bad) and a weapon token that changes my SMG to black? if these things are addressed, the game wont be as bad.

Seems suss how this is being handled.
I have only once witnessed something like this before [The Stomping Lands] and that did not go well..

The lack of timeline or explanation of what the update even is makes me think this is all super shady

DaD did this in January and April. Their Legal Troubles is not an excuse either because they still kept going despite the C&D claim on the title. Yet they still delivered. People were saying the same exact thing late 2022 with DaD's take down rumors being released. Hunt's release had a 1 week server downtime within the first month it was launched as well. People thought they pulled a bait and switch. Hell, if you want another example, if anyone was around for fortnite's open beta release, that was a ♥♥♥♥ storm and a half with total downtime for servers reaching 13 days in one month.

From my years of living in the "♥♥♥♥ games and AAA bust" era of gaming, I learned to just let the game run its course. If it comes back, it comes back (No Man's Sky). If it dies, it dies (The Cycle).

This is a straight up lie. Nothing on their steam page or website gives more info then this cryptic discussion post. Wasting my time with your stupidity

To be fair DaD had like 100x the playerbase this game has.
