Starsiege: Deadzone

Starsiege: Deadzone

This game almost made me spit my drink
So in the early 90s there was a series of mech/giant robot games called EarthSiege, and its third title was called StarSiege. The bad guys of the story was this AI robots that gone rogue called the cybrids. I am almost wondering if this game is supposed to be connected to that setting in one way or another. Almost had hope that this was a sudden appearances of another mech game.

Either way, this game looks neat.

Only in title. Other than milking that nostalgia, there seems to be no real connection.

There arent even servers anymore the game is dead
always funny when ppl talk good about DaD but bad about deadzone. i mean DaD is simply said not good and everyone knows it. issue is, todays mainstream community doesn't know it better, so they always go with the hype (twitch etc) without using their brains.
same goes for the actual concept - why do ppl think DaD is the first game like that...

Dark and Darker has 40-60k players.... its funny when people defend starsiege:deadgame with 150-450 players but hate on an objectively better game

heh - ya. Methinks the fanbois are more in love with the name than the game. Sadly the name alone doesn't bring substance to the game.

dark and darker does it better. DaD has AI enemies too, goblins, skeletons, bats, etc. deadzone has the cybrids. difference? DaD doesnt lock an ENTIRE WEAPON SLOT to fighting off this one enemy. energy weapons are completely pointless, because cybrids are so utterly MENTALLY DEFICIENT, you can just circle them with your melee weapon. PvP feels terrible. the movement is slow, the guns feel weak as all hell, almost no impact at all, and deadzone gives you two free weapons with full magazines when you dont equip any weapons. this allows you to go into raids, and lose absolutely nothing. die with all the stuff you found? no worries! you can just run in their again without waiting for anything! there is no actual repercussion or consequence for dying. And no one is saying DaD is the first game that does it like this, it just does it the best.

Imagine if DaD locked off a weapon slot for fighting off goblins. that would be terrible, cause thats a weapon that could be used universally that is locked off to fighting this one stupid enemy.
