SER is a Sniper Elite game, it doesn't pretend to be anything else.
It does what is does well: snipe. stealth, sabotage, bullet cam, large maps. If you liked those things in the other SE games, you will like this one.
Now if it's a $$$ thing, that's a you problem, not the games.
With only two maps, it more of less is.
Without co-op functionality for the game mode, it more or less is.
Unless one has O. C. D. and and a predilection for wasting time, it more or less is.
NB: I still play SE5, and still have some kill missions and workbenches to find; as well as doing missions from different starting locations -- i. e., it's not about "playing the game wrong" or wanting to "beat" it as fast as possible... It's about what's there to do, being worthwhile doing, as distinct from busy work to pad out a shallow experience / justify an investment.
Never preorder games!
You get a worse experience at a much higher price, I am trying to teach this to my son. Basically, I never buy any game at full price ever despite being able to afford this.
