Collision Course (Mission #4) Kill list glitch SPOILERS
I am getting real tired of the tight scripting on these Kill list challenges. For this one, the target is Ludwig Spiegel. The object is to have him die from a fall from the dam. My solution was to render him unconscious with non-lethal ammo. (A non-fatal Melee attack would work as well.) Having rendered him unconscious, I pick him up, move to the edge of the dam, and throw him off. Except when doing that, he hits an invisible wall and slides back down onto the deck instead of going over the side. To test if this was a graphics problem where there was a cell wall prohibiting linear movement in that direction, I picked up a nearby dead body and tossed him over the side. No problem. So obviously the prohibition is just for Ludwig ONLY. I circumvented the prohibition by checking the Internet for the "correct" procedure: Get Ludwig to stand on a specific platform that extends out from the catwalk, and then when he's in place, shoot the platform's support strut. So I put Ludwig's unconscious body on said platform, shot one of the struts and CHALLENGE COMPLETE.

As I said, I tire of being required to follow an unknown script EXACTLY. That approach negates the creativity of the gamer mind. Not every trip from Point A to Point B using the exact same footsteps EVERY step of the way. These challenges set a goal. The devs should be more thoughtful about SEVERAL clever ways a player can meet the challenge.

Pretty sure you can also trigger it if you knock him unconscious, place him on the little walkway that's held up by those weak pipes, and then shoot one of them so he falls with it. The kill challenge for making him fall off the side of the dam requires using that weakly-supported walkway. It's not just "make sure he falls off the dam somehow" but "make sure he is on this specific spot when it falls"

If you avoid alerting him he will literally go stand on that spot on his own for a few seconds every once in a while, because he's a Nazi and stupid. The kill challenges aren't as tightly scripted as they seem, but they do require meeting the correct conditions to achieve them. The one that's currently seriously bugged is Mission 7, because once the target drinks once you can't poison him anymore.

What you describe is pretty much what did: render him unconscious, place him on "that little walkway", and then shoot out a strut.

But see, that is precisely what I object to: The Challenge description is VERY vague -- "Make him die from a fall from the dam" -- but then REQUIRES that he be on that very specific small white section of platform that extends out from the walkway, and then shoot out a support strut. TOO NARROW of an option! It's this ONE way, or no way. That's not a game mechanic that is fair to the players. It requires that they be a mind-reader that read the dev's mind to get the HOW it is supposed to be done the "correct" way. Or, as is the more likely approach, look up the solution on the Internet where it shows the very detailed, step-by-step approach. In which case, it's not really a challenge anymore. It FORCES the player to cheat in order to even have a chance of completing the challenge.
He stands on a wooden platform on the lower walkway of the dam most of the time. It looks like it's only lashed to the steel walkway with rope. Shoot the rope...

It's actually two metal struts. You can see them easily if you stand at either end of the white platform and look under the platform.

Suppose that shows the quality of the graphics... looks like rope to me. Either way, it's probably the most straightforward kill list unlock.
