Buy the STEAM or the PS5 version of the game because of DualSense-PS5-Controller ?
Hello hobby snipers,

it's almost time & we can all go hunting again.

Since I've played all the Sniper Elite games on the PlayStation so far & I really want to
play the upcoming Sniper Elite Renaissance with the controller again, specifically with
the DualSense PS5 controller.

Have any of you played the predecessor "Sniper Elite 5" here on STEAM with the
DualSense controller & was it absolutely trouble-free ?

I'm asking because I discovered the predecessor game in GAME PASS just a week
ago & installed it to test it, but the DualSense controller didn't work at all & the XBOX controller did work, but it looked to me as if the button labels kept switching between keyboard & mouse control & control with the XBOX controller every now & then.

I'm just wondering whether I should just buy the PS5 version of the new Sniper game
again, because it currently only costs €81 or should I take the plunge & switch for
the first time to PC ?

I play on both platforms on a normal 60Hz TV.

Which version of the game (Steam or PS5) would you buy if you had the choice ?

Many thanks to everyone who took the time to read my post.

I hope you have much fun with Sniper Elite Renaissance & many playtime again.

Really a pity that no one answered, but I also made a decision today & I bought
the PS5-version (Deluxe) for 81,99€ & that means I'm on the safe side in terms
of performance & using the DualSense with all functions.

In case I actually play with someone, crossplay
has been available since the predecessor anyway.

I wish you all good long & above all accurate shots = good hunting or we
say in germany : "Waidmannsheil", but I'm not sure if you say that before
or after the hunt ;-)
Can't get my PS5 controller to work on steam, It should be natively supported.
Hello jgosztolai,

you're right, it should actually be supported.
Have you already posted this on the rebellion discord in the BUG section ?

I looked at the shop page again and unfortunately it doesn't say that the
DualSense is supported, only "PlayStation controller".

I really wanted to play with the DualSense, so in the end I decided to get
the PS5 version of the game & I'm glad I did, even if I have mixed feelings
about the game, but that's not what I'm talking about now.

If you still have your PS5, I'd return the game here & buy the game for the PS5 instead.

Hello jgosztolai,

today I wanted to compare the PC version (GAME PASS) with my PS5
version & I immediately noticed that the DualSense wasn't recognized
at all. Then I tried it with an old PS4 controller (DualShock) & everything
worked without any problems.

tried that myself just now, & everything works. BUT, when pressing the map(?) button whole game spins around and gun fires automatically. where do i find the map/obj??? if it's the large rectangular button in between the thumbsticks, i'm doomed.
Good evening @snipeth1S,

I can well imagine that the STEAM-version supports the DualSense controller more
than the GAME PASS version I tested, but without precise information from you
about which controller you tried, we don't know.

Oh & YES, it is the very large rectangular button called "Touchpad", but the function
will also be available on the keyboard. You have to look in your control settings
without a controller, because then you can see which button has which function.

A mix of both controller & keyboard should work, but then the button layout
will always be displayed differently for a short time.

Cheers
