Can we play Singleplayer only without Denuvo Anti-Cheat.
In SE5 you could refuse the installation of EAC and only play singleplayer without any of the online elements, is this still the case here? I don't play online and dont want to install any 3rd-party anti-cheat software.

I would appreciate a dev response ASAP, I am a fan of the series since the first one and it would be a shame for this one to be the first one I skip.
Thank you, and good luck with the game.

The response you will most likely get is a ban or this thread locked. They silence any conversation of Denuvo and theyve used it religiously in all their latest games. Im not sure why a singleplayer game needs any kind of kernel-level ANYTHING even if it is to protect leaderboards that no one cares about anyways

You can play SE5 solo, without EAC. Only if you want any of the on-line functionality, does the useless EAC need to be installed from the game's front-end. Denuvo is infused and all but permanent... It's an effective "spike protein", and ain't likely to ever go away.

I apologize if this is against the rules, i don't want to be banned, just wanted to know if i should pre-order or not, im very security conscious with my PC and installing this type of software on a kernel level is not something I want for my singleplayer game.

Is this actually confirmed? Denuvo anti-tamper and anti-cheat is infused in-game and we wont have the option to skip anti-cheat?

I only play the SP, and when I click on Co Op or Multiplayer I get the message that there is no Anti-cheat software installed and that I need to install it to be able to play. So I'm guessing that's your confirmation...........

Thank you!!! I assume you are a youtuber/reviewer or playtester and have the game early? How is the new protagonist compared to Karl?
In any case, thank you for confirming that I wont need to install any
anti-cheat program

P/S Love your BIA Baker avatar, one of the best WW2 series ever made, will never forgive Gearbox for not giving us a final game.

I was only speaking from experience with SE5.......... but I would assume it would be the same for SER.........

And I'm still waiting for Gearbox to finish the Baker story!! We were promised Bastogne at the end of Hell's Highway...........

Well they are using a different anti-cheat technology this time so i dont know if it will work that way again.

It cant be that difficult for a dev to respond to this.

I see they removed the anti-cheat kernel requirement from the front page, maybe that means they are trying a different method?

It shows the below message as of this posting date/time

"Incorporates 3rd-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-tamper
5 different machines within 24 hours machine activation limit machine activation limit"

Under that message there used to be another one that said.

"Incorporares kernel level denuvo anti-cheat, requires manual uninstallation"

Which is no longer visible, hopefully that means they are using a different method?

For those who dont know Denuvo anti-cheat and anti tamper are 2 different pieces of software, one for multiplayer cheating and the other for piracy protection.

They never "confirm" Denuvo until minute before release, via the poo-gold legal requirements listed under the game functionality. As for EaC, it was added belatedly to SE5, and may not be in from the get-go in SER. However, given they used once (to no effect but to cause crashes), they'll likely use it again, on account of the "Invasions" mode.

The message is now back again on the store page, "uses kernel level anti-cheat" Can I please get a confirmation from a dev whether or not this is optional for offline/singleplayer only players?
Thank you!
I really don't understand why people are so upset over kernal anti-cheat. If it's such a massive problem for you I recommend running windows under virtualization and boot up vm's for different uses. If you're using discord you're already using a vm of a webpage. Just do it with an OS for games.

Why would i want install a piece of software i am never going to use (its useless for me i am never playing online) for one game only?
and why would i run windows under VM for only one game?

I am interested in the singleplayer offline experience ONLY, my question is very simple can i or can i not skip the install of anti-cheat?

i just want to now if i should buy the game or skip it.

Bruh
People run vm's for online banking or pron. or exclusively for retro or gaming in general.
If people have such privacy issues they need to secure their boot OS before even using windows for day to day use. If denuvo is so bad then just buy a console instead.

Your problem is solved with a console which does everything you're wanting, offline, no denuvo. I know several guys who just play the sniper elite games only on console.

or, if you want to be much more modern on privacy, run vm's like any pro user does.
