are there better levels than other for this game mode? 1st one i tried was by a barn, with literally no where to snipe anywhere and 90% of the guys spawned like 30 feet from it. the entire game i had to use other guns wioth like no chance of sniping

You have to complete a mission to unlock the next. I've been playing the Survival maps and I love them. You have to pick a secondary gun that suits you for the up close and personal situations. But I don't recall having the soldiers spawn 30 feet from me. I usually have plenty of time to set my initial traps and then find a good spot to wait. I don't play on authentic so I get to know what direction they are coming. Sometimes I will go to meet them and pick a few off ahead of time to make it easier later..........
