Is this a DLC or Full Release?
I'm not quite sure if this is a SE5 DLC or what, since I would have expected SE6 to be the next Full Release. This has me scratching my head.

Also... WTH ever happened to Nazi Army??? Why has that mode been apparently tossed into the trash can?

Going on the "different perspective of the same timeline and region" trope the game was touted as being, it seems to be a kind of stand-alone expansion to SE5. I'm not really sure myself beyond going on the obvious similarities the games share, and the lack of a numerical indicator of it being a pure sequel.

The title was changed to appease 'someone' who or some entity that likely "took offence" to the "Nazi" moniker... I believe they've even dropped certain associated paraphernalia in the past (as absurd as the is for a game set in the era it's in), and perhaps in 'Resistance' too. For example, the "Marie Undercover" garb in ZA4 lacked the swastika insignia on the armband (it had some pentagram, or the like, supplant it).

As for the games themselves, if I were to hazard a guess, based on how this 'new' game smacks of the "glorified expansion" / "assets and ideas we had left over from SE5" approach, I'd say that since the brand was handed over to new owners (I'm unclear on this -- just read something to said effect), they are likely sticking with and refining what they already know (i. e., what they did with SE5), before they embark on other projects, before they have the knack of it all.

I am guessing this is only a DLC but probably a bit longer than a normal DLC. That's why they need to sell it as a "new" game. Because if it is going to be a normal DLC, it would only cost like half of it.

A slightly bigger DLC marketed as a stand-alone game.

Let's be honest: Probably all DLCs from SE5 were already finished or in the making when SE5 released, so maybe this one here is "new" in the sense, that development was only planned after SE5 released and new cashflow was needed.

It's a full game rather than a glorified DLC. The SE website says that it's a 'full length, standalone campaign playable in both single-player and co-op', and the Season Pass indicates that there will be an additional three campaign missions released at a later date. So essentially i think it'll be the same length as SE5.

This is a full release. The story runs parallel in France 1944, to the events of Sniper Elite 5.

My guess is that they do not like that Carl has become face of Sniper Elite series and they try to separate him from sniper series. Maybe he was to masculine for world war 2

Three?... Is that already confirmed? If the last games are anything to go by, it's usually five DLC missions; implying tha0 'Resistance' is a "lesser" addition to a franchise, which some might then argue spills over into "expansion" territory...

There were four DLC campaign missions in the SE5 Season Passes - Conqueror and Landing Force (SP1), and Rough Landing and Kraken Awakens (SP2) plus the Wolf Mountain 'Kill Hitler' mission.

Looks like SP1 for Resistance has two additional missions plus a Kill Hitler mission, so if we get a SP2 for Resistance I'd expect to see an additional two missions, which would bring it in line with SE5.
