“Everyone is tired of seeing” you mean you’re tired of seeing. Don’t kid yourself that you speak for even a majority, never mind everybody.
Also your comments elsewhere about “would increase sales” - oh look, another armchair expert who thinks they know more about the market and what sells than the professionals. So get off your butt, run your own company, produce a better product, and sell more, as you know so much about it.
Alternatively, you don’t want it, don’t buy it.
In many aspects I prefer it to the first sniper elite chapters.
- WWI -- a completely different game
- WWII -- the various theatres therein
- Korean War -- not an interesting enough theatre for a game
- Vietnam -- would need all new assets; not enough factions
- Iraq I
- Bosnian War
- Iraq II
Short of re-building the game and gameplay for WWI, it's rather clear that WWII is the best option. The only thing they could perhaps do is move more broadly around the various theaters. We've had Germany, Germany, Africa, Italy, France, France...
The Yugoslav War would be awesome. It's truly unique as a setting, with an array of odd weapons, interesting conflicts, social dynamics, larger-than-life personalities, foreign intrigue, meme-worthy music ... the possibilities are endless.
Imagine what a studio with passion, daring, and creativity could do with that premise.
... unfortunately, that rules out Rebellion.
In my mind, it's more realistic that they revive Strange Brigade and use it as a testing ground for new mechanics which they could incorporate into the flagship I. P.... At least, that's why I hope happens (as distinct from a by-the-numbers SE6).
Nah. We got mainstream franchises like Medal of Honor with games set in Iraq/Afghanistan while those wars were still being waged. That's not an excuse.
I personally played hundreds of hours in Insurgency as a Taliban blowing up Marines with IEDs. Everybody would spam the chat with "Allahu Akbar."
Rebellion just has no balls.
