I have a screenshot dating a few months, maybe a year back from the game having the exact same results pop-up as you OP - most likely a lazily / mistakenly reused asset from the console ports that was reused from CAPCOM considering a while passed ever since the 1.2.0 update was introduced, and Reunited is yet to be added to PC.
They literally re-added the slightly increased FOV camera angle found on PS4 and all other equivalents to the Steam port so I won't be surprised if some .txt file or whatever is responsible for that pop-up display in Mercenaries slipped the cracks and found its way to PC as well.
Another thing I kept on noticing - the enemy AI is far better inside Mercenaries Reunion than the standard Mercenaries mode - I won't be surprised if they ported MR (a console exclusive prior to the release of the "Gold Edition" for PC in 2015 btw) to PC directly seeing as how AI related problems, such as enemies getting stuck inside shipping containers are far, far less prevelant in Mercenaries Reunion than the Mercs mode with the standard character roster.
Either that, or later down the line modders MIGHT go through the headaches and trouble of adding it themselves.
Just look at how much trouble the authors of the Quality of Life Fixes and the MML Mod Launcher had to go through to make the game playable with as less bugs as possible, and add support for more than 2 players in Mercenaries respectively.
Then again, modding or general interest in RE5 is not as high as other games like RE4 for example since everyone grew to love and praise RE4 but RE5 is almost like a 60/40 or 50/50 split when it comes to people loving and hating it.
I grew up playing RE4 and 5 as some of my first PC games back in 2010-2012, PC games that were not from Flash, and over 13 years later I still find myself preferring 5 more than 4 although both games exceed in different ways and have their quirks and downsides.
Reason why I bought Nintendo Switch so I can play the "real thing".
