Help! cant invite/connect to my friend after the steamworks update
Hello,

Im trying to Co-op with my friend but i cant find him and he cant find me, at all.

We both find the same random people when we search for a custom game but cant find each other.

Any ideas? i lost hope.. tried everything i could think of.

I cant believe im saying this, i actually miss gfwl, it was clumsy and stupid but atleast it wroked..

Have you tried setting up private match and invite him instead of using random matchmaking? Seems Steamworks version has Region restriction so you may not see his session in public matches.

Im sorry but how do i setup a private match? i can either start a normal game and chose between local/online , or enter join which gives a quick match option and a custom search.

The problem is that i cant invite him and he cant join me .

Plus we live in the same building so its clearly not a region issue .

Maybe im missing something o-o

You set up the game and then invite through Steam Friend's list. I can't see my friends either, but I assumed it was just region lock or whatever. Also hosting private can result in player limit reached errors. Really hope Capcom will sort out these problems.

You get an invite to join option in your friends list? all i get is invite to watch , no join option what so ever. maybe im not in the right screen? if i remember correctly i had to be in the item organization screen to invite a person back then with gfwl. Is it the same now?

Can you be more clear about what you mean by setting up a game, and what should i do? you mean starting one and inviting my friend from the open world itself or from the item menu before the game starts?

Yep there is an invite option.

Start -> Play Game -> Continue/Chapter Select -> Select Difficulty, then
* Network selection: Online
* Co-op settings: No Limit or Invite Only

Then Start Game. Once you are in Item Management screen or in-game, Shift+Tab and click the arrow next to your friend name and choose Invite To Game (above Invite To Watch). Wait a bit and he should be connected.
