So how do you deal with Sheva?

As a long-time Resident Evil fan it's kind of emberassing to say that Resident Evil 5 is the only game (on PC) that I never beat on highest difficulty. And one of the reason for this is the AI companion.

(Playing through the game with a friend now, so that's not an issue, but I'm curious how you dealt with the AI partner when you played 'solo'.)

Just obtained the infinite rocket laucnher not long ago so currently farming Chapter 5-2 (Lickers' corridor) for money to upgrade every weapon (achievement farming ftw).
Replaying this exact 1 minute long sequence over and over again highlights almost every issue with the AI.

- If I give her ammo, she pumps it in my back.
- If there's a herb on her and my health even drops by 1%, she wastes it anyway.

So, alright I take away everything I can in hope she wouldn't do much harm now.
But here comes the fun part, without items she goes into loot mode, and the stupidity puts even Borderlands public lobby players in shame: she ignores every danger and starts dancing right in front of my face just to get to the drop, and then just stands there.
That wouldn't be a problem except I'm with a rocket launcher and she shielding everything while she's doing her little samba in front me....

The wait command apparently doesn't work or l haven't figured it out, since the button prompt that shows in key binding for that action does "Cover me" instead of "Wait"

Anyways. How do you manage the AI companion?

I'm currently enjoying being blown to pieces every now and then when idiotic AI decides she wants to pick up a gem just when I fire a rocket....

It would make the game so much easier if I could just park her somewhere, like in Revelations 2, do everything on my own and call her when I get to an area where both characters are needed, but instead.....

Yeah yeah, but Sheva is so sexy so why not just forgive her for everything? :D
After finishing campaign you can play as Sheva with AI Cris - mwahahaha - big stupid muscleman gonna be funny companion and he is absolutely unforgivable

About trip mine or wire just shoot at them at a safe distance and you good to go.

Playing on veteran from scratch without any previous data. I gave her melee/bulletproof vest plus all healing items - less damage, less wasting herbs. So I don't even care mixing them and all stuff, focused only on killing things as fast as i can. Feel much better playing this way.

Never happens to me. She does give me ammo only that I use, heals only when I have <25 % health and no issues in battle with Wesker and Jill.

Chris AI does the same not only sheva,so much hate towards sheva only cuz she's the default partner cuz you cant play as her from the start

Now ontopic:I give Sheva/Chris the hunting rifle with some ammo box/es,into ATTACK mode and and a few sprays,then just gotta worry about the ai not going into loot mode by shooting the barrels/boxes first and of course watch AI back

I just try and keep her guns upgraded like mine and hope for the best.

No issues ever with the AI companion on professional, I was farming S grade on all missions before the gold edition and I rarely go with random players as they are complete ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ that fail every kind of challenge that involve moving (yes, the AI partner will stick to your ass so is your fault if it dies) and when the save transfer will come back I'll go on.

The best tip is to move ahead and give your partner either a magnum or a sniper rifle, melee and gun vest, healing tools. Then focus on killing or running, the partner will just follow and shot something (with a sniper rifle) or shoot randomly (with a magnum) but will net a kill most of the times.

1. Equip the minigun on Chris when you fight vs Jill
2. As you retrain Jill, Chris will just run in circle.
