Resident Evil 5
DirectX 10 Missing?
I noticed as I started the game it no longer gave me the option to select DirectX 9 or 10. I ran the benchmark it displayed DirectX 9.0c. As far as I know, the DirectX 10 implementation only boosted perfomance, which I can still run the game at 60+ FPS at max settings. Am I missing something? Is it changable in the system files? Future update?

No. It's no longer supported, and really did nothing. Certainly didn't improve performance.

Thanks for quick response! Runs fine on DirectX 9 anyway.

I had a heck of a lot higher fps downsampling from 4k on dx10(always over 100) than I do on dx9(always below 100 hundred now close to 60) plus im sorry but I dont care what any devolopers or people say im sure I could see some slight graphical improvements in dx10... bare in mind before anyone comments i was playing in 4k dx10 yesterday morning and 4kdx9 as soon as the patch hit and I could see some differences, nothing major but just makes me think they should have just ported dx10 over aswell, fair enough some people had issues but some people like me didnt...choice never hurts.

I'll have to run a unlocked benchmark test. You have a beast of a system and I get at least 60 FPS and my setup is as follows:

Nvidia Geforce GTX 460
AMD Athlon II X4 620
4GB PC2-6400 RAM
Toshiba 1TB HDD
Chewy Mar 27, 2015 @ 7:21am
I could be wrong, but I could have sworn Direct X 10 improved loading times for me and possibly gave me a few extra FPS. Not exactly a big deal though.

Luckily Giantrobot10 I still maintain a minimum of 60fps in the 2nd benchmark but not the variable one which can go 40-50fps whereas before i had a constant 100+fps what is worrying me is if things will be the same during gameplay when there are alot of enemies on screen, dont want stuttering on such an old game and it does look super sharp downsampled... but im going to settle in shortly for a long session of RE5 so il report back with actual field test results lool

I never really tried out DirectX 9, only 10. So obviously I couldn't try now. DirectxX 9c works just fine one my setup though.

Wow! It seems you have a better setup, why is the fps so low? You should at least be able to get 60+ FPS.

my ram bus is only 1600, that cause bottle neck for my APU

DX10 boost RE5 more than 15 % ! so STFU when u dont Known

PS: FU Crapcom for ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DX9 !!!

Agree with that, cause earlier i've seen some differences between DX9 and DX10 on screen comparsion where the DX10 was better with soft and shiny lightning system. Capcom, give me back my old and good RE5 just without GfWL!
