Resident Evil 5
Resident Evil 5, for me, is far better than Resident Evil 4. ¿Why? Graphics, action, everything!
What do you think?

5 for me.honestly,4 represents a shift in the series i havent been fond of since.dont get me wrong,4 is a good game, but being forced to babysit a useless little brat that cant even defend herself is beyond annoying to me.5 has an addicting coop, and is the reason ive been playing it for so long.

I agree.
In my opinion RE5 is much better than RE4 and both are so much better than RE6.

6 was horrid,for the most part.i kinda liked leons campaign,for nostalgia reasons,but the rest...are memories i wish i could forget -_-

Re5 is better because you have Jill , Wesker , Barry and Rebecca

Story-wise I prefer RE5, but gameplay-wise I definitely prefer RE4. RE5 took things a step too far into the action direction, and for the most part the gameplay and enemies are just reskins of RE4 only with less focus on survival horror. 5 is plenty fun in co-op, but when it comes to actually being a survival horror game I'll take RE4 any day.

I find 4 to be far superior. It has a much, much better atmosphere and 4 still had a little bit of the survival horror feeling left. 5 is a lot of fun in coop, but it is an even bigger departure from the original games and when playing on your own it feels like it doesn't have much going for it.

RE6 controlled terribly. The only even remotely valid thing in that entire game is Mercenaries.
Yes the controls is very terrible if you're using a controller but in KB+M its perfectly fine.

RE5 is hands down my favorite of what I like to call "The Action Trilogy" (4, 5, 6)
Why? Simple:

Melee Combat
In RE4, you had a few decent, useful melee attacks. Shoot the knee? Sidekick. Shoot the head? Roundhouse. Shoot the cultists in the knee? SUPLEX. (Leon Kennedy for Summerslam 2015)
I'm sure that there are a few more, but whatever you get the point.
It was nice, but it could be improved.

In RE5 however, they did just that.
  • If you shoot a Majini in the knee with a stunning shot, and walk behind them, you can perform a 1-hit kill that negates the parasite. (Works on every humanoid Majini; Certain Mercs characters don't have it)
  • If you approach a downed Majini, you can perform a high damage stomp attack which can decap enemies if positioned correctly. (Prior to 5, your knife key would suffer severe abuse)
  • By stunning a majini with a shoulder shot, you can perform a string of combos with your partner. (This works on minibosses if you know their stun sweet spots)

Using these attacks effectively can lay waste to an undead horde with little more than a handful of well placed shots and proper spacing. It adds another layer of challenge for those who are bored of spamming their infinite-ammo Hydra like it's going out of style.

((I didn't really play RE6 that much. I hated the deviation from RE4/5's control scheme. Counters were neat, though.))

Agreed. RE4 is overhyped garbage that only GAF members suck up to.

RE5 is a better game mechanically. you have the real time inventory, fast weapon switching, side stepping and as mentioned the melee is more involved. you also have a more involved mercenaries and a lot of things that smartly adds to the games replay value like subchapter select and storage. coop is also a ton of fun.

however campaign wise the game is significantly worse. the enemies arnt as interesting to fight, bosses are boring goo monsters, the atmosphere is lesser, the scenarios they put you in are either direct copies of RE4's or are just plan dull (turret sections, defeat 2 of these enemies now!), the story tries to be serious, but in doing so comes off as even more laughable, the games pacing is better, but then its also half the length and they force an AI partner on you which can make life a living hell depending on how you play. They also get lazy in the last 1/3 with enemies that shoot guns and provide you with a half-assed cover system and an AI that doesnt have proper options to deal with them.

4 is dated in several ways in comparison, but the raw creativity of its design is why its regarded so highly and why 5 isnt. theres more to a game than just mechanics.

RE5 didn't really fit well in the series. However, as an action game, RE5 has solid game mechanics.

i know this seires for many years, but i haven't play re1 re2 re3. well, they were kinda scary to me. i only play resident evil 5 so far. In my opinion, as a horror game, resident evil 5 didn't do a good job, because i found there was nothing to scary about in this game. But as a action game? definitely fantastic! i would say re5 is really successful being a action game instead of horror game.
