how to delete save ?
I've played this game a lot and i'd like to create a new save/profile. the problem is when i delete savedata.bin in my steam folder and i launch the game, it says: fail to load data, you won't be able to save unless you load a profile save. I was used to delete my saves often with GFLW and recreate a new one from the game.It seems impossible to do with Steam. Has anyone any idea about how to get around this issue ?

Sorry for my bad english and thank you for your answers

Out of curiosity, where are you deleting the save game from?

The save from the GFWL version is located in a different place than the new Steamworks version. I don't have the new version installed right now, so I can't test what happens if you delete that save, but the new save is located somewhere around:

C:\Program Files\Steam\userdata\XXXXXXXX\21690\remote

The Xs being your Steam ID #, you should be able to find it.

IF that's the one you're deleting and it doesn't work, let me know, and I'll play around with it a bit to see if we can figure something out.

yeah that's the one i was deleting.

But i found a way browsing old posts. I bring the solution in case someone else want to start from scratch:

Open savedata.bin, located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\XXXXXXX\21690\remote
with notepad and delete a couple lines. Save. Launch your game and try to load the data.
Obviously the game will say the save is corrupted and give you the opportunity to create a new one.

Hoping this will be useful for someone.

anyway thx for your feedback DrakeVX.

Managed to brick my game with this thread. Good job?
Undid changes, still bricked.
Restarted computer, it worked.

Glad the restart fixed it. Not sure what part of this thread could have bricked your game though, the only file mentioned is a progress file, not required to launch the game.

And you, dear sir, are now a minor deity of my personal pantheon.

Seriously, thank you. I have a friend coming home next week-end and we wanted to start again this game we finished years ago. You just saved our week-end, four years in advance. Thanks a bunch!
