Alternatively, you can use trainers to achieve both, but from my own experience, I can say most people download trainers so they can gain an unfair edge in Mercenaries and Versus over the other players.
Quality of Life Fixes, a mod you can download from the Steam Guides fixes a bunch of issues with the game, and it adds the option for laser aim while using mouse and keyboard.
[only downside being in order for it to work, it has to downgrade your game to the previously available version before CAPCOM's latest update, meaning if you want to play with others, they'll need to install it ; just to be sure you can make a backup of your vanilla (unmodded) game directory and always revert back to the vanilla files instead of taking chances with Steam's slow files verifying option.]
The mod also features an option that simulates the improved FOV camera from PS4, you can always enable it and combine it with Lyall's Fix for an even better camera perspective.
Texture mods do not exist for the game sadly, all the texture overhaul is happening for games released prior to RE5, probably because people seem to hate it for its action-oriented approach. Even if there are any, they're probably private, WIP or yet to be released, there's not a single mod that attempts to improve RE5's textures like the HD Project for 4 for example. The closest things you can find to retexture mods nowadays are weapon skin mods, some of which were designed for the standard version of the game which breaks them on the Gold Edition, and character texture / model retextures.
The RE5 trainer, if I'm going to use it, will only be in campaign mode, and just to activate the laser sight, but that's not so important now. I'm considering playing using the controller right now.
The Lyall's RE5Fix mod, I saw that it has some options in it, how should I configure them, to have the best possible quality? Anyway, I just have to thank you for the tips, thanks a lot guys, I'll follow your tips and start playing, I want to make the most of the experience. It's going to be a marathon, starting with 5, then 6 and then the two revelations, I want to platinum them all if possible.
Glad to have helped out. I'm pretty sure the options are explained in the .ini file itself, but if you want to make use of the Improved Shadows, set the number value to 4096.
The FPS cap can be helpful because when playing on 60 FPS you'll reduce the chances of AI glitches occuring in-game
(Majini getting stuck in walls or out of bounds, teleporting etc.) and generally make the game more stable. If you're using a monitor with a refresh rate equivalent of higher than 120 Hz, you can set the cap to 120 FPS, however, animations in the game were not optimized for 120 or more frames - something I believe I read from one of the authors of the QoL Fixes mod Anthony.
