I think they gotta stop at some point or they'll go as far as remaking the remakes. RE5 really didn't age so badly that it needs a remake. On top of that, RE5 was a divisive game, it isn't really viewed as a classic like the first 4 games.

well that's why they gotta remake it. you don't remake games because they were already good, you remake games because they need a bit of polish or an entire revision so they don't just sit as a bad title. resident evil 2, while being a classic, was also fairly dated by modern standards and definitely needed a touchup to make it more accessible and easier to play. same goes for resident evil 3, even if they messed that one up. resident evil 4 didn't really need a remake imo, that one is still very playable by modern standards

IGN said RE5 was racist back in 2009 too, and everyone called them out on their idiocy.

Difference is today, the majority of "gamers" will agree with IGN...I wouldn't want a remake of RE5 anyway. It's perfect as it is, like how the OG RE4 is perfect the way it is and never needed a (horrible garbage) remake.
