Resident Evil 5

Why isn't the DLC on sale, it costs twice as much as the Gold edition?
I bought this game many years ago before the DLC existed. Now I want to play the mercs mode and the extra campaigns but the price of the DLC on it's own is more than twice the cost of the Gold Edition that includes all the DLC.

Does the DLC ever go on sale or do I need to remove the game from my account and rebuy the Gold addition.

Yup, it goes on sale but not as frequently as the main game and, judging by "SteamDB" (great page to keep in mind), the difference it's not that much between waiting for a discount or buying the game again.

I think it's because Capcom recently unified both RE5 and RE6 with all their respective side content. Nowadays you can't buy the games without the DLC included, so they maintained the alternative for those who still don't have them (but with far less attention).

Alright thanks. I do see the DLC has been on sale for 75% off. Guess I'll just wait a couple weeks for the spring sale.

It's an unnecessary risk considering that the next big sale is pretty close to arrive...

And the spring sale is here and once again they DIDN'T put the DLC on sale. People who bought the game years ago for a much higher price are being punished. This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

It sucks but at this point just "delete" the game from your account and buy the Gold Edition. There are DLCs or upgrades to "deluxe" versions that never go on sale :/

You don't even need to do that. Just put the Gold Edition in your cart; it'll warn you won't get a second copy of RE5, but buy it and you'll have the DLC added to your account.

The sale is weird, buy the main game, you get the DLC for free.

Players that already own the game are screwed by the no sale DLC :monstersmart:
