Solo story mode mod.
I think it would be really cool if there were a mod that removed the AI partner, making the game entirely solo. Obviously, certain parts would become impossible without the partner, so additional changes would have to be made in order to prevent the player from being softlocked. Here's some of those, and what to do to fix them, as well as some parts that seemingly cause a softlock without a partner, but actually still have a way to progress.

1. Many doors, as well as elevators, require both players to be present to open/activate. This would be fixed by simply only needing one player to be present to do so.
2. There are many things like levers, chains, buttons, and other similar things that have to be pulled/activated by both players at the same time. This would be fixed by having them able to be done separately; the player pulls one lever, then goes to pull the other. If this is not possible, then the player simply only needs to do one, and the other will activate on its own.
3. Uroboros Test Subject is normally killed by the incinerator; one player pulls the lever while the other lures it in. However, it is possible, albeit difficult, to lead it in and pull the lever yourself after getting out. Additionally, it is possible to kill the boss without using the incinerator. This part would be unchanged.
4. The locked door on chapter 2-1 before the first chainsaw man is normally unlocked by having Chris throw Sheva over a gap so she can go around to break the lock. However, the lock can be broken with a well placed grenade throw. This part would be unchanged.
5. The gate in the mines in chapter 2-2 requires one player to use the crank to open it while the other goes through. This would be fixed by having the gate stay open after being opened; it won't fall back down after releasing the crank.
6. The broken ladder with the slate part at the top in chapter 3-1, Chris has to boost Sheva up to get to. This would be fixed by having a normal ladder replace the broken one.
7. The bridge in chapter 3-1 has to be raised by one player with a crank while the other passes over it. This would be fixed by having the bridge stay up after being raised; it won't fall back down after releasing the crank.
8. The raft in chapter 3-2 where crocodiles attack you has to be moved by the other player using a crank. This would be fixed by having the raft move on its own when the player stands on it.
9. During the part where you're running from falling statues in 4-1, at the last jump, one player falls and is then rescued by the other player that does not fall. This would be fixed by just having that not happen; the player does not fall, nor go back, and just keeps running. If this is not possible, then the player goes back to rescue an invisible player.
10. There is a part in chapter 4-2 where Chris throws Sheva over a large gap to get to the Sky emblem. This would be fixed by modifying the gap to be short enough for the player to jump over normally.
11. Uroboros Mkono, a boss in chapter 5-2, is normally killed by having one player burn it with the flamethrower while the other shoots its revealed weak spots. Unlike Uroboros Test Subject, Mkono can not be killed by weapon fire alone, as it only receives damage to its weak spots that reveal when it is burned. However, it is possible, albeit difficult, to burn Mkono with the flamethrower and shoot the weak spots yourself before they retract. Additionally, Mkono's weak spots can be revealed by other sources of fire, such as incendiary grenades and the explosive tanks. Mkono can also be killed by a rocket launcher. This part would be unchanged.
12. There is a part in chapter 5-3 where one player stands on a platform while the other player pulls the lever to move it. This would be fixed by having the platform not start moving until about 2 seconds after pulling it, giving the player time to get onto it before it moves. The same thing would be done with the elevator later in the chapter, before the first fight with Wesker.
13. Jill in chapter 5-3 is normally defeated by having one player restrain her while the other tries to pull the device off her chest. The device can be damaged by shooting it, but she cannot actually be finished this way, as it will be left with 1 HP; the final blow to the device must be done by pulling it off. However, if she is stunned by shooting the device and then thrown, the player can attempt to pull it off without a partner's help. This would be unchanged.
14. There is a part in chapter 6-1 where one player gets trapped by a falling crate and the other goes to the lever to raise it. However, you can prevent this entirely by sniping the majini waiting at the lever. This part would be unchanged.
15. There is a part in 6-1 where both players stand on different platforms and shoot a button to raise the other crate. Many players do not know this one, but it is in fact possible to knife the button with a very well placed knife swing, thus raising your platform without a partner's help. This part would be unchanged.
16. During the second fight with Wesker in chapter 6-3, after stunning him, one player restrains him while the other injects him. Without a partner, this obviously could not be done. This could be fixed in a few ways, such as having him instead be defeated by a set amount of damage, having him be defeated by restraining him a set amount of times, or have him automatically be restrained by an invisible partner when he is stunned.
17. During the third fight with Wesker in chapter 6-3, normally Sheva crosses a path that then breaks when Chris crosses it, making him fall, separating the players. This still occurs as normal. The boulder that Chris punches is already knocked into the lava. However, things would go differently depending on if the player is Chris or Sheva. If the player is Chris, Wesker does not jump over to where Sheva would normally be after receiving enough damage, instead he just instantly progresses to his next stage. If the player is Sheva, Wesker instantly jumps over to where Sheva is to attack her, but the ground on the way to the boulder does not break; she simply crosses unimpeded, allowing her to jump onto the boulder and get to the area where Chris would normally be.

Whew, that took a while to write and think out. Did I miss any parts that would have to be changed if the second character were removed? If so, let me know and I'll add them. Also, cutscenes would be completely unchanged, including ones with QTEs. I would love to see a mod like this, that removes the second character and fixes the game to be able to be progressed without the second character. It would definitely go for an interesting challenge and I would have fun playing it.

I would make such a mod myself but I could never develop mods. What do you guys think, would this be an interesting mod? And could anyone here actually make such a thing?

There's a trainer to make her practically invincible.

If you wish to play really solo.
No offense but this mod just made the partner invisible. He or she is still there lol. That mod is stupid. Might as well just use the trainer that makes them invincible bcoz the partner dying repeatedly is the real issue with players.

Look at 5:18

It is silly lol.

I know, it's the only one mod existing, that doing something you looking for.
Other variant how to play solo, is to ask some one with trainer to join.
So he can clip out of map , letting you do the thing.
And only came back to map exits or partner events.

Lets hope, that remake of re5 will get to roots and bring back solo mod.

Sorry I didn't intend to be mean. Anyway, to OP, from RE0 to RE6 the game's mechanics are stapled to be coop mode with Ai, even RE3. By coop, I meant controlling more than one character, either alternately or simultaneously.

RE0 you control Billy and Rebecca
RE1 you control Chris and Rebecca
RE2 you control Leon and Ada / Claire and Sherry
RE3 you control Jill and Carlos
RE4 you control Leon and Ashley
And so on and so forth.

It was never solo play with one character.

in most of the other games you play Solo, not with a partner that follow you, shoot with you or help you continuosly. In few cases, like og RE2 with Ada following you,you had a partner for a really short amount of time but almost the entire time you was on your own. That's what people mean with "solo",spending almost the entire time on your own without any help or support from the AI.
Just controlling another character does not equal to having an AI partner,Ashley is also a different case because she is not present in many parts and she doesn't really help you in combat.
