Game Still Won't Start, Haven't Found an Answer

I was playing RE5 just fine a couple months ago when it suddenly just refused to open up one day whenever I would try start it. The game would load and then immediately crash before getting to the start screen. I was hoping the new update would fix the issue, but the same thing has been happening (though without the annoying GFWL pop-ups). I've deleted mods, verified game files, redownloaded, and restarted my computer, but none of this has fixed my problem.

One thing I've noticed is that I still get a pop-up that says "Resident Evil 5 - Quality of Life Patches: Unsupported game version, mod disabled." but I don't understand why I would get this pop-up if I did a fresh update and also verified game files. Does anyone have any idea how I can fix all this?

Try reaching out to Anthony and RICK - the authors of the QoL Patch in their Steam Guide's comments, I'm pretty sure they can give you more information related to that error in the second paragraph.

When uninstalling and reinstalling the game, you need to remove the config file related to RE5 inside Documents as well, sometimes that .ini is the culprit behind all issues.

If you happen to use a program like Revo Uninstaller Pro, you can completely remove all leftover RE5 installation files, and delete all leftover cache files just in case any of them cause issues.

I would recommend for you do uninstall the game again, reinstall it, and try running it without any other mod (even QoL), game ran perfectly fine for me after I reinstalled it to get the latest CAPCOM update. Prior to that, you had to have QoL Fixes, maluc's patch or a specific version of GFWL that's pinned in the Discussions installed in order for the game to start.

I deleted the config file and at the very least the pop-up stopped showing up. But the game still won't boot up, still have no idea why.
