This game is doomed, Black Screen since 2017 no fix, on multiple pc
Literally what the hell. I played it with a friend and it stopped working out of nowhere, I got a new pc in 2019 and it still does it. Reinstalled my windows multiple times

It just does a black screen when I launch it and crashes instantly, no error message NOTHINg

thought this patch would have fixed it but it absolutely did not. Reinstalled it on different hard drives, still the same issue

really, what the f?

Tried every possible combinations in the compatibility settings and noooooothinnggggggg..!
I just wanna playyyyyyyyy

OP does not realize the problem is not related to DP, I have been playing the game for almost 170 hours on this account on Display Port exclusively without a single issue, even before installing "RE5Fix" mod, which is supposed to fix a bunch of resolution / monitor related issues.

Hyrule himself stated he has a 144 Hz monitor (w/t specifying the resolution), so if I were him, I would try capping the FPS in-game to 120 or 60, and install the mod to see if the issue persists. Not to mention this might be a hardware related problem - a bad DP port on the monitor / MOBO, or even a faulty cable.

Tried the latters not worked

and yeah I read it worked for some people on display port but I tried with the same monitor with hdmi cable and it works, maybe my display port cable is broken but other games are unaffected

Based on this thread (post #13 specifically) I'm starting to suspect your cable is the culprit :

Ah, that's usually the problem indeed... I've tested that with a few people already. They'd usually try the original 2009 release which supports dx9 and dx10, dx9 wouldn't work just like the steam version (also dx9 only), but they'd be able to run the dx10 version, at the cost of not being able to play with other Steam users and missing out on DLC :/ glad it helped though

I don't know what type of problem you have but I'm playing on Windows 10 with widescreen and green/yellow screen filter off and it works fine

Windows 10 with a 3070 GPU and i5 11500. Game runs once I used a mod that removed Windows Live.

I'm playing on a 2070 and that uses a DP input and it's working great for me, I think perhaps OP needs to do a reinstall of windows.

There seems to be a connection with any AMD GPU and Resident Evil 5 not wanting to run on Displayport.

Nvidia users are able to run Resident Evil 5 PC on Displayport without issues, but it seems pretty common that RE5 will not run on Displayport with an AMD GPU.
