If you replaced it, try veryfing your local files and it should be solved
1. Right click the game in your Steam Library
2. Click Properties, Local Files, Browse.
3. click, Redist then gfwlivesetup.exe
This will run a setup but should fail, check the directory folder (redist) for two additional files.
You're looking for two more executables.
- gfwliveclient
- xbl(something)
The xbl-thing installs some small encoder file. The second will correctly install the client for Games for Windows Live.
4. After installing both the game should run.
IF YOU CANNOT FIND the files after running the gfwlivesetup.exe:
5. Press Windows+R for the Run command prompt.
6. Type, "%appdata% and click ok.
7. Navagate back one directory to the AppData folder, (if you are automatically moved into the Roaming directory)
8. Click, Local, Microsoft, GFWLive, Downloads.
Here you should see 3-4 files.
The xbl, the original setup, the client, and one more file.
9. Just install the same files as in step 3. the xbl first then the client.
(The reason I don't remember the names is because once you install them they no longer show up for me.)
10. After installing both the game should run.
If you STILL cannot locate the files. Run the gfwlivesetup and keep the window open and check both directories. For some reason the other executables only show up when the setup is running.
It was basically the same thing someone posted but with hopefully more clarity
I am still unable to find a solution towards the problem. I am still trying to find one but from what I am seeing when you have an issue like this there is literally nothing you can do. For me the game works completely fine but for the other person even after spending two days trying to trouble shoot and trying everything possible the game just refuses to start. I am going to try sharing my Launcher.exe and re5dx9.exe to her and see if it works just as you stated on how earlier it worked when you pirated it but if it doesn't I doubt there is a solution for a problem like this
