And you get all advantages from the normal Flashbangs:
- kills every parasite type in one hit + area of effect including those that otherwise tend to eat a lot of ammo. Like the duvalias, or the busted adjules (even though Iirc the the GL rounds have a smaller AoE)
Nitrogen rounds are amazing, when you want to clean up hordes of lickers with little effort. Granted, the rocket launcher could do that, too, but if its not the infinity one then he can do it only once.
Asides from that they are just as good against all weaker enemies such as the majinis, adjules, bui kichwas (anything is good against those) but at some point the hefty price tag might come into play...
Explosive rounds...well, they are like the normal handgrenades but with more range and effect on impact. Again...price tag. A bit too expensive at the beginning.
When it comes to acid rounds, I personally only use them in the bossfight against Excella, when she drops those small Uruboros spawns. Kills a bunch of them in one blow, no distracting explosion or fire. And they are not that expensive. Plus, chances are good, that you will get some before the fight. They work on other enemies too, but I found the effect pretty underwhelming.
Electric rounds are basically what you can use, if Flash rounds have no effect. They stun reapers to the point, where they show their weakspots and bother Giant Majinis, Big Man Majinis, Gatling Gunners, Chainsaw M. and the executionior for a short moment. You cant punch them during those phases though...
Fire rounds...great against Uruboros Mkono in chapter 5-2. If he doesnt bug out.
Hardly ever use them after that.
