Resident Evil 5

ENB Mod
Is this just not possible anymore? Every single thread I try they either: don't want to give good advise or have bad english or lack there of.

Please someone tell me in detail how to get the mod working correctly. Some people say change the phd file, some say only move 2 files, some say move the entire directory.

I get the a black screen saying that: "Resident Evil cannot be started up. Windows will now close this program."

I have tried everything, my specs:

Windows 10 64bit
GTX 970
i5-4670
24gb RAM

Which file did you download? The updated specktra mod or the 1.3 update? Did you make any changes to text files?

When I just simply move any of those files into the directory, my game just immediately crashes. If I remove the mod files my game runs fine. I feel as though I am missing one step to bypass the login crash after I install the mods.

Made some progress. I installed your fix, thank you by the way, and installed the helixmod file. However, instead this time I get to a full-screen but then a crash.

I will try the other links you provided and give an update.

I have tried both mod files and none of them seem to work. I get as far as to launch the game on Steam and it flickers to full-screen and the game crashes.

Playing around with the files I notcied that it is the"d3d9.dll" that seems to crash my game on startup. If I delete that file the game runs fine, obviously without the mod.

I also theorize that me constantly reinstalling and messing with files has corrupted my Resident Evil 5 installer. Is there a way to download a clean slate of re5 on steam? I think Steam keeps installing a corrupt version of the game.

What would also help is that I previously had the game on an external drive but have uninstalled it and reinstalled it into my SSD c drive. Maybe that helps? Please help as I want to do a lets play with my friend soon.

well, sorry i can't tell you much more. Some ENB versions don't work for me but i tried both from the guide and they work for me. :/

If your game works without the ENB then nothing should be wrong with your game files. But you can always go to the properties for the game in your Steam libary and check the local files for errors (you need to re install mods and the fix again after).

Maybe you can try the game in window mode? Because i herade about errors because of fullscreen mode.

also the game should run better on the ssd than on a external harddrive. People reported micro lags/stutter of the game when speech commands are used by having the game on a external harddrive.

Please tell me more sir! Because I resorted to doing that but I did it improperly.

I used Specktras RE5 True Color ENB FXAA from resident evil modding board.
I forgot the link in the forum, but I uploaded the file if you wanna try it. I didn't change anything, just copied all the files to RE5 directory.
