From the top of my head I believe that is the only reference to RE4 in RE5.

Do you really find it that hard to play RE4 with a controller? Regardless of your preferred method of control, the analogue stick gives you more than enough precision to easily pull off headshots and knee shots as often as you like.
This isn't CS:GO - most of the enemies in RE4 will stand still or slowly shuffle directly towards you, giving you more than enough time to line up your shots, and you get a laser dot that shows you exactly where each one of your shots will land.
If you are unable to play this game well using an analogue stick, I think that it says more about your lack of familiarity and skill with using an analogue controller than it does about the quality or viability of analogue control.
