Mysterious Update for Resident Evil 5 screws up trainer

I'm trying to figure out why did they update the game there was no point at all now that the update has happened those of you who enjoyed the Resident Evil 5 Gold Edition Ultimate Trainer Update 5.1.1 can't unless the trainer gets a patch for the current update and now im hearing since this update has happened it's crashing for users really wasn't a good idea to patch this

The patch isn't compatible with the new stupid update, unfortunately. In my case i'll get "Wrong CRC" error for running the game after replacing the needed files

To update on this only the newest maluc fix patch works. The same one linked in Rick's/OP's post http://www.sb-online.org/maluc/index.php?did=bh5fixes. The old "Patch1fixes" that was compatible with the trainer unfortunately does not work. If you have ANY trace of it in your game folder (like "launcher.exe" or "xlive.dll") then remove it because that's why you either get "Wrong CRC" when game launch fails or your game crashes at 30 seconds in any of the mercenaries/versus modes. If you have no default launcher.exe for the game backed up to put back in it's place then you will most likely have to Reinstall the game on steam.

While I don't think this update fixes ♥♥♥♥ in the game, it needs in fact an official patch from long ago. That's exactly why maluc unffocial patch exists. There are too many graphical glitches and save bugs during co-op play in the Steam version that didn't occur in the GFWL version under DX10.
