Chapter 5-2 Uroboros Mkono bug FIX
TLDR: Cap your FPS to 30 or 60 in the System Settings. Or you can one shot him with a Rocket Launcher, but I feel that's kinda cheap on your first play through.

Also, note that my partner and I are using an unofficial patch, found on PCGamingWiki.

Hey all,

Been playing RE5 again with my partner and having a blast. However we're up to Uroboros Mkono, a boss I already LOATHED on console, but now he's literally impossible. No matter how much we use the flamethrower his weak spots never show.

Incendiary Grenades and gas canisters after he swallows them DO reveal the weak spots, but only for a second and these are finite. The flamethrower is there as a fallback if you can't kill him with those, but of course we're stuck because it doesn't work.

Of course you can one shot him with a rocket launcher, which can be obtained from 3-1 on a boat in the middle of the map, or bought for N10,000 (I think). That's the strategy I used tens of times on PS3 on repeat playthroughs, but I feel its kind of cheap to do that on your first go at him.

I watched videos of the fight online and sure enough, after about 35 flamethrower ammo his weak points show up, and a cutscene plays where Sheva says "That's his weak spot!"; this never ever happened in our game. Sheva also said other lines like "Burn in hell!" when she picked up the flamethrower, which never happened when my partner picked it up.

From this I deduced that it's a framerate issue. This kind of thing is fairly in line with other games that break when the frame rate is too high: invincible enemies, fast or missing cutscenes, sequence breaks, weird physics, et cetera.

I was running the game uncapped at 144hz, so I capped it to 60fps in the settings and went back to do it again.

I beat him in 5 minutes. I had Sheva use the flamethrower, all her lines played correctly, the cutscene played, and his weak points showed up which I demolished with my shotgun.

I've only tested this solo but I plan on running it again with my partner tonight. I'll update this when we play again if it works in co-op too.

Kind of annoying that there's an option for uncapped FPS if it breaks the game, but it's absolutely fine at 60fps. Let me know if this fixes it for you.

yeah, figured it out about year ago. Also capping 60 FPS make Majini's pathfinding more convinient (they sometimes run in circles when 120 FPS).
